A glacial haze
Enfolded the park,
Dragging memories
With every arc
Of a gaze fixed on the horizon.
The tiny steps
That led up to the attic
Left it drenched—already
Hollowed
By the slow slide
Of interstices,
Of slender
Threads—
The artisans
Of yesterday.
